Leap for Lupus Foundtion

Headquartered near Seattle, the Leap for Lupus Foundation is a rising non-profit organization in its second year. Using all volunteer labor, 100% of the foundation's profits go directly to Lupus research.

Valinda Mitchell, co-founder of the Leap for Lupus Foundation, was diagnosed with lupus in 1989 and was hospitalized as a result of the disease in 2003. As Valinda fought her battle with lupus, it became very clear that the standard treatments and medications used for lupus patients were inadequate. Currently, all the drugs and therapies used to treat lupus are borrowed from regimens used to treat other diseases. This includes different forms of chemotherapy, which often do more harm than good. Some doctors have compared these treatments to using a jackhammer to drive a thumb tack.

We’re using your money, our time and skydiving to find a cure for Lupus.
